Mercer Madness
Rachel and I decided to make our two-minute package about a press conference held last week for the 1st Annual Mercer Madness Dodgeball Tournament. The press conference took place at the ice skating rink at Mercer County Park, which is where the tournament will be held. We inserted visuals and several soundbites from those responsible for organizing the event. Our piece also includes four voiceovers, read by Rachel, and concludes with her final tag. We hope you enjoy it and we look forward to seeing you at the courts on April 12th.

Tom and Rachel,
I liked that your news piece took place at the actual event, it was like a "live on the scene" piece. I think you picked really good interviewees, and the interviews were interesting. Long enough that we could hear what they had to say, but not so long that the audience could get bored. The topic was fun and light-hearted which is nice as well. The only problem I had was with the lighting right on their faces, but we had already talked about that in class and you said it was just because you needed extra lighting and another channel messed up your interview location. Overall I think it was a fun piece, nice clean cuts, no jumping around either. Good job!

Tom and Rachel: I think you guys did a really good job with this news piece. It was great that you were there at the actual news conference. It was very professional and well planned. The sound bites you used from the press conference added to the piece as well as the interviews. They were all edited nicely together. The only thing that was missing was people playing dodgeball. But, we discussed that in class and I understand why you didn’t have that footage. Overall, great job! You guys should do a follow up piece during the season for LTV!
Tom, I just saw the mercer madness commercial. It was great!
